Deliverables

What we produce in STAAD.Pro

What leaves our STAAD.Pro desk is a calculation package a third-party checker can follow line by line: the idealisation, the loads, the combinations, the code clauses and the governing utilisations.

Scope your deliverables

3D analytical model

Beam, plate and solid idealisation with supports, releases and offsets justified in the model-basis note — not quietly assumed.

Load cases & combinations

Dead, live, wind, seismic, crane, thermal, erection and test loads built to ASCE 7, EN 1991, IS 875/1893 or AS/NZS 1170 with a full combination matrix.

Member design check report

Code check to AISC 360, EN 1993, IS 800, AS 4100 or CSA S16 with the governing clause, ratio and controlling combination for every member.

Serviceability & drift checks

Deflection, sway, crane-girder and vibration limits checked against the project criteria and tabulated by member group.

Support reaction tables

Factored and unfactored reactions per load case, formatted for direct hand-off to foundation design and to the civil contractor.

Signed calculation report

Model plots, load diagrams, assumptions, results and a sign-off sheet — issued as a bound PDF for approval or authority submission.

Interoperability

STAAD.Pro file formats we work with

STAAD.Pro is the hub between geometry and everything downstream — connections, foundations and detailing all start from its reactions. These exchanges keep that chain lossless.

Native formats.std input.anl outputISM repository
STAAD.Pro import and export formats and how we use them
FormatDirectionHow we use it
.std input fileBoth waysThe editable model itself — delivered so your team can re-run, extend and audit the analysis.
ISM repositoryBoth waysRound-trip geometry with RAM Connection, Foundation Advanced and Revit without remodelling.
CIS-2 / SDNFBoth waysAnalytical member exchange with Tekla Structures and other detailing platforms.
DXF / DWGWe importGrid lines and setting-out geometry imported so the model matches the architectural layout exactly.
Excel / CSVBoth waysNode, member and load schedules in; reaction and utilisation tables out for foundations and reporting.
STAAD output (.anl)We deliverFull text results file supplied alongside the PDF so a checker can interrogate any load case.
PDF calculation setWe deliverBound, indexed and signed report for client, certifier or authority review.

Working in a format that is not listed? Send a sample file with your enquiry — we confirm every exchange route before kick-off rather than discovering it at issue.

How we work

Our STAAD.Pro workflow

Our process is built around catching problems before they reach your reviewer, so the checking stages are fixed, not optional.

  1. 1

    Design basis & idealisation

We agree the structural system, boundary conditions, materials and which code set governs before any geometry is built.

  2. 2

    Geometry & sections

Frame built from your layout, with profile catalogue, material grades, releases and offsets matched to how the structure is actually built.

  3. 3

    Loading

Gravity, wind, seismic, crane, piping, thermal, blast and erection loads applied, with their derivation documented in the report appendix.

  4. 4

    Combinations & analysis

Linear, P-Delta, buckling and response-spectrum or time-history runs as the structure demands, with mass participation verified.

  5. 5

    Results sanity check

    Quality gate

Equilibrium, reaction totals against hand-calculated weights, deflected-shape review and warning-log clearance before any member is sized.

  6. 6

    Code check & optimisation

Member design iterated for weight and for the sections your fabricator can actually buy, not just the lightest in the table.

  7. 7

    Hand-off & report

Reactions to foundations, end forces to connection design, and the indexed calculation report issued for review.

One stage is a formal quality gate — work does not move forward until a senior engineer signs it off, which is why revisions after issue stay rare.

Choosing a platform

When STAAD.Pro is the right choice

We run all twelve packages in-house, so we have no reason to push you towards one. Use this to check that the platform matches the deliverable you actually need.

Choose STAAD.Pro when

  • Framed steel or concrete structures — pipe racks, technological structures, PEBs, towers, platforms and industrial buildings.
  • A project that must be checked against an unfamiliar national code: STAAD carries 80+ international design codes in one model.
  • Dynamic demands — response spectrum, time history, crane surge or machine-induced vibration on a frame.
  • You need member forces and reactions in a form connection and foundation design can consume directly.
